Welcome to the 2023-2024 Otto M. Budig Academy Season!

We’re thrilled to have dancers from our Preparatory, Community, Young Dancer, Advanced, and Professional Training Divisions back in the studio already, and we can’t wait to welcome Children’s Division dancers next week. Registration remains open, even after classes begin! If you have friends who’d like to join you in the studio this year, please encourage them to reach out!

Priority registration opens tomorrow for our first Master Class event of the season featuring Tiler Peck, Principal Dancer at New York City Ballet, actress, author, designer, and choreographer for stage and screen (most recently for Cincinnati Ballet’s upcoming More Room to Play! – Kaplan New Works Series).

Cincinnati Ballet's Master Class Series is open to participants ages 13 and up with a minimum of five years of formal training. We also invite observers of all ages—whether family members, friends, or dancers who might not quite be eligible to participate—to join us in the studio. Each event features a technique class as well as a curated Q&A with the artist.

Registration is open for 2023-2024 CB Moves classes! CB Moves is designed to foster a love of dance and creative expression for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. With curriculum designed in consultation with the Division of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy at Cincinnati Children's, we offer a variety of classes for students from age four through adults. If you are interested in registration and new to the CB Moves community, we invite you to fill out a placement request form.

The Otto M. Budig Academy is proud to welcome our seventh Professional Training Division class this season. This year’s class represents 16 different states and includes returning dancers from the 2022-2023 Season and new dancers joining us from our Summer and Collegiate Intensives. We’re pleased to officially introduce our 2023-2024 Professional Training Division class to our Academy community:

PTDs: Frances Bennett, Gianna Brace, Sanaa Brown, Claire Daley, Carmen Doll, Madeline Flythe, Olivia Frisch, Katie Stuckenschneider, Julianna Varner, and Catherine Voorhees.

Trainees: Fiona Allen, Ciarán Barlow, Anna Doggett, Brianne Falanga, Andrew Fung, Noah Gnes, Engler Gonzalez, Charlotte Gularson, Elizabeth Jacobson, Helen Jardon, Dietrich Klawonn, Caroline Love, Fiona Murphy, Taylor Petrowski, Jenna Renfield, Sierra Severt, Elizabeth Swisher, Madison Taylor, and Anneliese Welsh.

Absence Reporting and Make-up Class Scheduling
If a student needs to miss class, please notify the Academy Administrative Office via the channels below. Students who need to be absent for any reason are welcome to request a make-up class in their same level or a level lower. Because class sizes are limited, students should request to participate in a make-up class and receive approval prior to arrival. Make-up classes can be requested in the Absence Notification Form or by calling the Academy Administrative Office.

The Academy uses Remind to send families reminders, emergency alerts and other notifications via text, push notification or email. During class hours on evenings and weekends, our Student Experience Representatives are stationed in the lobby at a standing desk to support new families, students waiting for class or arriving late, and otherwise helping to ensure positive experiences in our shared spaces.

With the fresh rhythms of fall resetting calendars everywhere, we're excited to announce our updated Adult Dance + Fitness schedule. Join us in the studio to explore our dance offerings or try out a new fitness routine. All classes are available on a drop-in basis and are open to participants ages 16 and up. Weekly classes include offerings in Ballet (Basics and Intermediate), Barre Fitness, Modern, and Victoria Morgan’s VM Workout. (Plus, stay tuned for additional offerings later this fall!) Get ready to embark on an extraordinary journey with Cincinnati Ballet’s 60th Diamond Anniversary Season! The season kicks off with Rep 1—MORE ROOM TO PLAY, Kaplan New Works at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater, September 15-24. The wildly popular annual series returns with invigorated programming from Artistic Director Jodie Gates, featuring fresh works from talented choreographers. This ambitious program will feature world premieres from Tiler Peck of New York City Ballet, Houston Thomas of the Dresden Semperoper Ballett, and Cincinnati Ballet’s own David Morse, as well as contemporary works from Smuin Ballet’s Artistic Director Amy Seiwert and Cincinnati Ballet artistic collaborator Jennifer Archibald.
