I am honored to welcome him to my leadership team, where he will play a pivotal role in shaping the Academy’s artistic vision, enhancing the quality of training, and fostering a culture of excellence and care for all students.
David’s leadership has already made a significant impact within our community. Currently, he serves as Academy Principal and Director of the Professional Training Division. His profound understanding of our students, faculty, and the Academy’s standards makes him uniquely suited to assume this role.
As an accomplished artist, David has graced the stages of Cincinnati Ballet as a soloist and spent eight seasons with Charlotte Ballet. His repertoire includes works by renowned choreographers such as Balanchine, Forsythe, Kylián, Naharin, and Tharp. As a choreographer, his work has garnered national recognition.
In his own words:
“It is a joy to step into the role of Academy Director at an organization that has been my artistic home for so many years. In so many ways, dance has been a transformative force in my life, and I am honored to lead our exceptional faculty and staff in helping the next generation of dancers uncover their unique voices and develop a true sense of agency. I am committed to fostering a culture of belonging where each student is empowered to grow into their most authentic self through dance and to reach their highest potential—not only as artists, but as thoughtful, art-loving citizens. I look forward to partnering with Cervilio Miguel Amador and the broader Cincinnati Ballet organization to further elevate the Otto M. Budig Academy as a premier training institution grounded in technical rigor and artistic excellence.”
Please join me in congratulating David and supporting him in his new role.
Cheers,
Cervi
