Now that registration has closed for the 2022-2023 Academy year and all programs are underway, we want to send a special welcome to our newest dancers and families. Acceptance letters with instructions on how to register were sent to eligible Otto M. Budig Academy students in January. We tend to fill quickly, so if Cincinnati Ballet is your program of choice, we encourage you to register soon!

Are you ready for summer with Cincinnati Ballet? Dates have been set for all youth summer programs and registration opened last week with priority registration for current students. Registration opens to the public in mid-February, so make sure to register early! Students placed in Youth Summer Intensive and Summer Dance Workshop received placement emails in January, but please don’t hesitate to be in touch with the Academy administrative office if you have questions.
Youth Summer Intensive
An entrée into intensive summer training at a pace designed specifically for young, aspiring dancers' unique stage of technical development. Classes run Monday - Friday from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. Students have the option to join our full four-week program or one of the two-week sessions noted below:

Summer Dance Workshop
A week-long summer dance experience featuring daily engagement in ballet technique, exposure to diverse dance styles and specialty workshops. Each week-long program runs Monday - Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Master Class with Margaret Tracey

Register today for our next Master Class event featuring Margaret Tracey, arts educator, Balanchine Repetiteur, and former Principal Dancer with New York City Ballet! Margaret has been serving as Principal Academy Consultant at Cincinnati Ballet this season and will present a master class on Saturday, March 4, from 1:00-3:00 PM.

Spring Family Observation
|
|
|
During the week of March 6-11, we invite Academy families into the studio classroom to observe class and witness your students’ hard work and progress. Select classes for each division and track will be open for two guests per student to join us for class. Emails will be sent late this month with specific details for your dancer’s schedule. We look forward to seeing you at the Center for Dance next month!

It’s that time again! Our faculty is eager to begin working on choreography and in-class rehearsals this month for our season culminating Spring Production! This year’s performances will be held in the Corbett Theater at the School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) on Friday, May 19, and Saturday, May 20, 2023:
Preparatory, Young Dancer and Advanced Division students will perform both evenings, Friday, May 19, and Saturday, May 20.
Children’s Division (Creative Dance and Pre Ballet) students will perform in one of three daytime performances on Saturday, May 20.
Specific times will be announced later this spring, and much more information will be coming your way these next few months… but you can mark your calendars for those dates now! We can’t wait to celebrate a great year with you!

Congratulations Salomé Tregre
|
|
|
|
|
Congratulations to Salomé Tregre on her promotion to Cincinnati Ballet's Second Company! Salomé began training at the Otto M. Budig Academy at the age of three and has been a student in the Academy's Professional Training Division beginning in the 2021-2022 Season. She has performed in countless Academy productions as well as many Cincinnati Ballet mainstage productions including The Nutcracker, King Arthur's Camelot, Beauty and the Beast, among others. We are so thrilled to celebrate this momentous step in her career as a young dancer and can't wait to see what the future holds for her. To learn more about Salomé, visit her bio:

On Stage: ALICE (in wonderland)
|
|
|
|
|
From the fantastic imagination of choreographer Septime Webre comes ALICE (in wonderland). Webre infuses Lewis Carroll’s classic story with humor, color, and irreverence. It’s a visual spectacle with elaborate sets and over-the-top costumes, accompanied by a buoyant score from composer Matthew Pierce performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Follow the White Rabbit to Music Hall and meet the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat, but watch out for the Red Queen, or it’ll be off with your head!
