Happy New Year! We’re excited to welcome students back to the studio this week, with classes resuming in our Children’s, Preparatory, Community, Young Dancer, Advanced, and Professional Training Divisions, and we look forward to welcoming CB Moves dancers back later this month.

There’s so much to look forward to in 2026, so read on to learn more!

Close of 2025-2026 Registration
It's not too late to register for 2025-2026 Academy classes, but don't delay! Registration for the current Academy Season closes on January 15, 2026. If you know any eager young dancers looking to explore Academy training, please share our website and encourage them to contact our team. We're happy to be their guide!

Schedule Changes: January 15 is the final day for currently enrolled students to submit schedule change requests. We know a new year can bring new family commitments or a change in school or extracurricular schedules. If you need to adjust your class schedule, please fill out a Schedule Change Request Form by clicking HERE.

Young Performers Audition
Auditions for Cincinnati Ballet's Family Series: Pinocchio are on Saturday, January 17. Dancers must be currently enrolled in the Otto M. Budig Academy in specific levels (noted below) to be eligible.

Master Class with Sofiane Sylve
We’re thrilled to announce our first Master Class event of the 2025-2026 Season featuring Sofiane Sylve. Sofiane's legendary career as a principal artist included engagements at Dutch National Ballet, New York City Ballet and San Francisco Ballet. She currently serves as Artist-in-Residence with The National Ballet of Canada.

Saturday, January 24

Cincinnati Ballet's Master Class Series is open to dancers ages 13 and up with a minimum of five years of formal training. We also invite observers of all ages—whether family members, friends, or dancers not able to participate—to join us in the studio. Each event features a technique class as well as a curated Q&A with the artist. Registration will open soon with a special priority period for current Academy students, so watch your inbox!
Spring Production 2026
As we move into January, preparations for our annual Spring Production will begin in many Academy classes. Performance is a pivotal and beloved part of our students' dance education, and we look forward to sharing much more about this year’s culminating performances.

Children's Division Costume Measurements Due Today!
Families with dancers in Creative Dance 1, 2, and 3, Children’s Division Tap, and Pre Ballet classes were sent an email in December with details about submitting costume measurements for their students. Measurements must be submitted via this form by TODAY, January 5. Please note costumes should run true to size in line with the measurement ranges detailed on the size chart referenced in the form.

Youth Summer Programs
    We’re delighted to share the dates for our 2026 Youth Summer Programs! Summer training is a wonderful way for young dancers to stay inspired, sharpen their skills, and connect with new friends and faculty. Mark your calendars! More information will come your way soon regarding priority registration and placement.

The immersive experience is created specifically for adult dancers and features classes in ballet technique, repertoire, and a dynamic range of dance styles and workshops. It's the perfect boost of energy and inspiration to launch your new year.

Don’t forget! Students in the Preparatory, Young Dancer, and Advanced Divisions will receive mid-year progress reports this week, so keep an eye on your inboxes! We look forward to celebrating student growth and providing guidance for their efforts in the second half of the year.

Hailed as one of the greatest ballets of all time, this production features virtuosic choreography after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, with additional choreography by Kirk Peterson and live music performed by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
