Summer and Collegiate Intensives

The dates are set for Cincinnati Ballet's nationally recognized summer intensive programs!
Cincinnati Ballet’s Summer and Collegiate Intensives draw dancers from across the country for an immersive experience designed to expand their horizons, elevate their technical ability, and help them discover the artist they’re meant to become. Participants gain invaluable exposure to challenging repertoire and programming that reflects today’s dance world, all under the guidance of world-class faculty, distinguished guest artists, and Cincinnati Ballet’s artistic leaders.

Cincinnati Ballet Summer Program Auditions
This season, Otto M. Budig Academy students interested in attending Cincinnati Ballet's summer programs do not need to audition. Information regarding summer placement and registration will be sent to eligible students later this winter.
NSIA Auditions
If you are planning to audition for programs beyond Cincinnati Ballet by participating in the National Summer Intensive Audition Tour (NSIA), we encourage you to act quickly and register at the link below. Participating students can audition for 15 programs with just one audition. The audition for the youngest age group is currently on a waitlist, and remaining spots are going very quickly, so don’t delay!

Last Chance for First Class Free

There are only a few short weeks left to take advantage of First Class Free! We love this annual opportunity to open our doors to new families, and we hope you’ll help us reach the aspiring young dancers in YOUR community. There’s no charge for new participants to sample a class, and Academy enrollment is still open making it the perfect gateway to explore continued training this season.

Adult Winter Intensive

New this season! Inspired by our popular adult summer intensive, we're thrilled to bring you our first-ever Adult Winter Intensive! The immersive experience is created especially for adult dancers and features classes in ballet technique, repertoire, and a dynamic range of dance disciplines and workshops. Adult Dance + Fitness Free Dance Week
January 5 - 10, 2026
We’ll also be kicking 2026 off with our annual week of FREE adult classes. If you’ve been curious to try out an Adult Dance + Fitness offering, this is a great opportunity to start the year strong. From Monday, January 5, through Saturday, January 10, all Adult Dance + Fitness classes will be free! Whether you're brand new to the studio or rediscovering a passion for dance, we hope to see you this January. Online registration for January classes will go live later this month. All experience levels are welcome, and we’re hoping to see lots of new faces, so jump in and explore!

CB Moves Family Dance Days: Celebrate the holidays with your fellow CB Moves dancers during the week of December 15-21! CB Moves Family Dance Days are a festive opportunity for dancers to share the studio with an adult family member for a holiday-themed class.
Adult Dance + Fitness
Most Adult Dance + Fitness classes run as normally scheduled over the winter break. But keep in mind the following building and class closures: December 24 and 25, and December 29 - January 4.
We hope everyone enjoys a festive holiday season and a restful break!

If the Academy ever remains open during winter weather and you feel unsafe traveling to the Center for Dance, please contact us through the usual attendance reporting channels, and your student's absence will be excused.

Have you marked your calendars for the weekend of May 15-16? While Spring Production is still months away, teachers will begin rehearsing choreography during class time early in 2026, and much more information will follow in the new year to help you prepare for this inspiring milestone to cap off our season.
Children’s Division Costume Measurements:
For students in Creative Dance, Pre Ballet, and Children's Division Tap, the first Spring Production action item is for you. We’ll send an email later this month about taking and submitting costume measurements for your student, but the submission form is ready NOW at the link below! The deadline to submit is January 5, 2026, so why not cross this task off your to-do list before the holiday bustle arrives?

As we prepare to head into winter break, our faculty are hard at work on mid-year progress reports for our Preparatory, Young Dancer and Advanced Division students. These reports serve as a key opportunity to chart student progress through our curriculum, celebrate areas of strength, and provide constructive insights for goal-setting in the second half of the year. Progress reports will be sent in January, so keep an eye on your inboxes when we return to classes!

The Nutcracker

No holiday is complete without a trip to the Land of Sweets for The Nutcracker presented by Sheakley Family at Music Hall, December 18-28, 2025. When a curious young girl named Clara receives a magical Nutcracker for Christmas, her dreams come to life in the Land of Sweets. With Tchaikovsky’s beloved score performed live by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, experience the magic and sparkle of this holiday tradition, and act fast before the tickets slip away.
This year’s production features over 80 young performers from our Academy and community as well as many of our Professional Training Division dancers!
Please join us in applauding these extraordinary young dancers as they help bring our beloved classic to life this season.
