Our Academy community continues to grow here in early 2025! Now that registration has closed for the 2024-2025 Academy Season and all programs are underway, we want to send a special welcome to our newest dancers and families. Academy newsletters will be delivered to your inbox at the beginning of each month, and they’re a great way to stay up to speed on programs, happenings, and opportunities here at Cincinnati Ballet. Youth Summer Programs
As we head into February, our youth summer programs take the spotlight with priority registration options for Academy families! While our regular Academy classes take a break during the summer, we look forward to welcoming you to specialty summer experiences that stretch the imagination and expand your dance horizons.

Kids Dance Camp
Kids Dance Camp is a creative exploration of dance, music and art through beloved stories for students ages 4 - 8. Exclusive priority registration opens Wednesday to current Academy families, but only until February 15. This popular program sells out every year, so be sure to secure your spot before this program goes on sale to the public!

Summer Dance Workshop
Summer Dance Workshop is a week-long summer dance experience featuring daily engagement in ballet technique, exposure to diverse dance styles and specialty workshops. Summer Dance Workshop is for dancers who have completed Preparatory Division 1. Current Academy students will receive placement and priority registration access Wednesday, February 5.

Youth Summer Intensive
Youth Summer Intensive provides young, aspiring dancers with an entrée into intensive summer training at a pace designed specifically for their unique stage of technical development. Students have the option to join our full four-week program or one of the two-week sessions. Current Academy students will receive division placement via email in mid February.

Spring Production 2025
It’s that time again! Our faculty is eager to begin working on choreography and in-class rehearsals this month for our season culminating Spring Production! This year’s performances will be held in the Corbett Theater at the School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) on Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, 2025:

Preparatory, Young Dancer and Advanced Division Spring Production
Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17, 2025
All dancers in these divisions perform on both evenings.

Children's Division Spring Production
Saturday, May 17, 2025
Children's Division dancers will perform in one of three daytime performances.
Includes students in Creative Dance, Pre Ballet and CD Tap.

Specific times will be announced later this spring, and we’ll be in touch with much more information in the months to come… but if you haven’t yet, you can mark your calendars for those dates now! We can’t wait to see our dancers shine on stage!
Community Division Showcase
This month our Community Division and CB Moves classes will begin preparing for this year’s Community Division Showcase, scheduled for Saturday, April 12. This annual showcase will feature a variety of dance styles including ballet, musical theater, jazz, and street dance, as well as selections from our CB Moves classes.
For students currently enrolled in a Community Division and/or CB Moves class, participation in the Showcase is optional. A survey will be sent to eligible students very soon—please take a moment to complete that so we know if you’ll be performing with us in April.

Welcome CincyDance! Foundations
Congratulations to the students selected to participate in our 2025 CincyDance! Foundations program. These promising young dancers were selected at auditions in December and are now taking part in a 15-week course as part of CincyDance!, Cincinnati Ballet's cornerstone education program, with a mission to expand a love of dance across our community. We hope you'll join us in welcoming these new families to the Center for Dance!
Spring Family Observation
Are your calendars marked for Spring Family Observation Week? From March 17-23, we look forward to welcoming Academy families into the studio to see class in action and witness your dancers’ progress. Select classes for each division and track will be open for observation—more to come via email! We can’t wait to show families what your dancers have been working on!

On Stage: The Wizard of Oz
There’s no place like Music Hall for choreographer Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz, February 21-March 2. Join Dorothy on the yellow brick road but watch out for the Wicked Witch and her flying monkeys! This production features fantastic special effects and gorgeous sets and costumes… not to mention young performers from our Academy bringing to life the fantastical features of Oz.
