Happy 2025! We hope you all are warm and safe on this snowy Monday. Though the Center for Dance is closed today, January 6, due to winter weather, we’re excited to welcome students back to the studio this week, with classes resuming in our Children’s, Preparatory, Community, Young Dancer, and Advanced Divisions. We look forward to welcoming CB Moves and Professional Training Division dancers back next week. Read on to learn more about what’s coming as we turn the calendar to a new year!

Close of 2024-2025 Registration
|

It's not too late to register for 2024-2025 Academy classes, but don't delay! Registration for the current Academy Season closes on January 15, 2025. If you know any eager young dancers looking to explore Academy training, please share our website and encourage them to contact our team. We're happy to be their guide!
Schedule Changes: January 15 is the final day for currently enrolled students to submit schedule change requests. We know a new year can bring new family commitments or a change in school or extracurricular schedules. If you need to adjust your class schedule, please fill out a Schedule Change Request Form by clicking HERE.

Auditions for Cincinnati Ballet's Family Series: Snow White are this Sunday, January 12! Audition to join the beloved cast of characters in this treasured, family favorite production.
Young Performers Auditions for Family Series: Snow White
Sunday, January 12, 2025
1:00-2:30 PM: Dancers 3’10" to 4’4"
2:45-4:15 PM: Dancers 4’5" to 4’11"
4:30-5:45 PM: Dancers 5’ to 5’7"
Dancers must be 8 or older on the day of the audition and currently enrolled in the Otto M. Budig Academy to be eligible. Please visit the links below for more information. We hope to see you there!

As we return to classes this week, preparations for our annual Spring Production will begin in many Academy classes. Performance is a special and integral part of our students' dance education, and we look forward to sharing much more about this year’s culminating performances.
Children's Division Costume Measurements Due Today!
Families with dancers in Creative Dance 1, 2, and 3, Children’s Division Tap, and Pre Ballet classes were sent an email in December with details about submitting costume measurements for their students. Measurements must be submitted via this form by TODAY, January 6. Please note costumes should run true to size in line with the measurement ranges detailed on the size chart referenced in the form.

Youth Summer Intensive
July 7 - August 1, 2025
Features two-week and four-week session options
Youth Summer Intensive provides young, aspiring dancers with an entrée into intensive summer training in a fun and nurturing environment. Otto M. Budig Academy students do not need to audition.
Summer Placement
Student placement and registration for students eligible for Youth Summer Intensive, Summer Intensive and Collegiate Intensive will be sent later this month.
Priority Registration
Current Academy families also receive priority registration for Kids Dance Camp and Summer Dance Workshop. Stay tuned for details!

The Academy is thrilled to welcome a new team member! Jackie Smith joined the Academy’s administrative team in December as our Student Services Manager. For the past five years, Jackie has served as the Theatre Director and Theatre Teacher at Notre Dame Academy where she led the high school’s performance and instructional programming. Her extensive background in arts education and administration also includes experience at fellow Cincinnati-area arts institutions including Pones, The Carnegie, and Playhouse in the Park. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Otto M. Budig Academy and look forward to introducing Jackie to Academy families at upcoming events and programs. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming her to our Cincinnati Ballet community!

Adult Dance + Fitness Free Dance Week
|
|
|
|
|
We're kicking 2025 off with a week of FREE adult classes to start the year strong. From Tuesday, January 7, through Saturday, January 11, all Adult Dance + Fitness classes are free! Whether you're brand new to the studio or rediscovering a passion for dance, we hope to see you this January.
All experience levels are welcome, and we’re hoping to see lots of new faces, so jump in and explore!

On Stage: The Wizard of Oz
|

|
|
There’s no place like Music Hall for choreographer Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz, February 21-March 2. Join Dorothy on the yellow brick road but watch out for the Wicked Witch and her flying monkeys! This production features fantastic special effects and gorgeous sets and costumes… not to mention young performers from our Academy bringing to life the fantastical features of Oz.
