Audition Information
While summer training may be months away, summer audition season begins soon! This season, Otto M. Budig Academy students interested in attending Cincinnati Ballet's summer programs do not need to audition. Information regarding summer placement and registration will be sent to eligible students at a later date.
If you are planning to audition for programs beyond Cincinnati Ballet by participating in the National Summer Intensive Audition Tour (NSIA), register today at the link below. Participating students can audition for 14 programs with just one audition. Spots are going very quickly, so don’t delay!

Summer Study Information Session
|
|
|
With summer audition season nearly upon us, we invite interested students and parents to join Academy staff and faculty for an information session on December 6th. All are welcome to attend and learn, but this session will be of particular interest for students currently training in our Young Dancer and Advanced Divisions. An email invitation with further details was sent last Thursday. Both in-person and virtual attendance options are available.

Throughout this session Academy Director, Sarah Hairston Berkley, will be diving into some essential guidance on summer intensive training, including what to look for and things to consider as your student pursues summer training programs.

This holiday season, we’re excited to host our third Winter Dance Camp December 27 – 29 for dancers ages 4 – 8. In the spirit of our summer Kids Dance Camp, it’s a great opportunity to dance our way through the holiday break. Registration is now open to the general public. We hope you’ll register—and invite a friend to join you!

There are only a few short weeks left to take advantage of our First Class Free opportunity! If there are aspiring dancers in your life, we’d love to invite them to try a complimentary class on us. Children’s, Preparatory, Community, Young Dancer, and Advanced Divisions
There are no classes from December 19, 2022 through January 1, 2023. Classes will resume as normally scheduled the week of January 2, 2023.
CB Moves Youth Classes
There are no classes from December 19, 2022 through January 8, 2023, with classes resuming the week of January 9, 2023.
Adult Dance + Fitness
Classes will run as normally scheduled during the Academy break with a few exceptions: no classes will be held on December 24, December 25, December 31, or January 1.

Should severe weather occur or be imminent, we encourage you to check in frequently throughout the day, as class status may change pending information from our trusted sources. If the Academy ever remains open during winter weather and you feel it is unsafe to send your student, please contact us through the usual attendance reporting channels, and your student's absence will be excused.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! New Cincinnati Ballet merchandise has been added to our CB Shop. Stop by the Welcome Center and stock up on those last-minute gifts and stocking stuffers!

As we prepare to head into Winter Break, our faculty is hard at work on mid-year progress reports for many of our students. Students in the Preparatory, Young Dancer, and Advanced Divisions will be sent progress reports in early January, so keep an eye on your inboxes when we come back from winter break! We look forward to recognizing student progress and providing constructive insight in areas for them to focus on as we head into the second half of the year.

While Spring Production is still months away, we’ll begin preparing for our year-end performances shortly after we return from winter break. Teachers will start using class time to teach choreography early in 2023, and much more information will follow to help you get ready for this exciting milestone in our season.
Children’s Division Costume Measurements: For students in Creative Dance and Pre Ballet classes, the first Spring Production action item will be for you. Look for an email within the month about taking and submitting costume measurements.

Join us for the magic of The Nutcracker this holiday season. Share Clara’s candy-coated adventure to the Land of Sweets, as your family enjoys Tchaikovsky’s beloved score. When Clara receives a nutcracker on Christmas Eve, her dreams take her to a wondrous land where a fantastic cast of characters awaits. Dozens of local young performers (including many Academy students!) join Cincinnati Ballet onstage for these holiday performances. It’s a spectacular holiday treat for the entire family!
